Hello, first time poster! I finished catching up on the series just this morning (I stopped reading at chapter fifteen some months ago), and while trying to color scans of Toto, I noticed something that others might have seen as well. I'm not certain if this was touched upon in one of the chapters yet, so I wanted to share this with all of you and see.

As promised, here's some of the stuff from those notebooks I drew in as a kid. I was about seven or eight years old when I made these. When I was that age I spent a lot of time making my own "textbooks" because I guess I didn't have anything better to do, and I spent most of my time in elementary school reading and working out of textbooks by myself, so I became pretty familiar with them. I think this one was supposed to be some kind of reader, cause it's done in anthology style with different "authors". I didn't have a lot of time to invest in scanning these, so I'll come back to this later...

Now that I think about it, nowadays someone would have probably tried to label me as autistic or something. I was a pretty weird kid...

not water reclamation... but i went through my garage and found some old stuff to reclaim. a lot of my stuff is in the garage bc when i first went to college, my parents rented out my room so all my stuff moved into the garage. then when i got my room back, i never really brought back all that stuff. but anyway i was going through some old cards today... and they only went back to 2006. i used to keep allllll my letters and cards. so i went rummaging in the garage to find them. & found so much more precious stuff :)

of course i still love all my friends. but seeing all these letters theyve written to me. it really rekindles those flames in my heart for them.

Warning, I am very skilled at the assassination of your brain cells. Like so.

I'm a bit on the frustrated side. I got a 1/4 yard of lime green velboa, and it's awesome! I made another alien kitty plush right away, while it looks better with the velboa, I still don't like how "flat" it looks. I want it to have a cute round head, and not so... well flat.

I've tried different patterns and I just can't seem to get it quite right. It's still on the flat side. Also, the darts keep puckering like hell even though I trim them.

I really wanted to make a few alien kittens for my shop, but the head is always the most frustrating part of plushie making to me. I just am not good with making ball like things. My goal was to have as little darts as possible (I have one on top of the head and two hear the neck on each side). I didn't want to have to have a seam going down the middle.

I really like how the cuteplush pirate bunny head looks, so I modeled my pattern after it.

I still don't really like how it looks.

Japanese 202 is only available TTh 1:30PM - 3:50PM next spring.

I work on Thursdays from 10-2.

I'm already down to working only Thursdays and Saturdays.

I don't know how this is going to work.

You know I heard from a very reliable source that a majority of all the millionaires in America never even got a college degree.

Probabably they just invested all the money that would have gone to paying for college into stocks and stuff. That's a lot of money right there.

The last two days were horrible for me. In addition to feeling horrible in the wake of the shittiest Halloween in recent memory, I had to sub at the Pearl-Cohn Freshman Academy (their 9th grade is so horrible they get sequestered in a separate building like two miles away). So yeah, glad it's Friday

It's time for this week's video. Here we have an Italian disco tune from '83 called "Playback Fantasy" by O'Gar (whoever the hell that is). I found it on youtube while searching for artists played on the WRVU show Penguin Parade, which I look forward to every Thursday evening. They play a lot of retro electronic music and disco type stuff.



This video is majorly ridiculous but you can't help but admit that the song is awesome. Recently I've been interested in disco because it's obviously the precursor of house music which I've always enjoyed, and who doesn't love music you can dance to?

I really wish the DJs from Penguin Parade actually spun records at a local club, or if there was any nightclub place in Nashville cool enough to play stuff like this (and old synth stuff too).

You're never going to give me Boss Spain episodes, are you? :(

But.... BIG NEWS!!!!! I GOT MY NEW VISA TODAY!!!! It was kind of a struggle and I had to go over and over to this government institution or that office over the last two months, and get this form from the city office or that thing from Sensei or wait for this receipt or that proof-of-something. Only to have an immigration officer give me the most dubious look in the world a few days ago and talk to me in a tone of voice that said, "You are crazy, this visa is never going to fly." But it did!!!!!! I got the notice that I was approved today and changed all of my plans immediately and spent the rest of the day picking it up and taking care of other legal things! I'm now all set for the next three years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *throws a party* I really, really am considering digging into my savings to buy an ipod touch (in celebration). Or not. BUT I AM HAPPY!!!! *dances*

So, while I was in the immigration office I went to the convenience store downstairs and saw some cute things.. I was wondering, is anyone interested in random pictures of things like this? Truth be told, convenience stores ('conbini') are huge parts of life in Japan. At least, life in the city. Without them, I think that a lot of people would die for lack of food, bandages, or even shampoo. Funny because I never went to a convenience store in the states unless it was to get gas for my car (they don't have gas at conbinis here) or slurpees or those delicious do-it-yourself nachos (also not here)!

(I should be sleeping because I need to get up early tomorrow, but I am totally watching the Star Trek movie because it just came out on DVD in Japan today... couldn't help myself and had to buy it!!!! And who knew my DVD player was region-free! Not me!! =D)

I drew this to match my last Yui/Toyo drawing buuuut unfortunately I am not nearly as happy with it. :( (Maybe because it was finished in about an hour and without the autumn leaves I had no fun shading to work with, boo hoo.)
